Registration is now open for CRLT's fall series of workshops on teaching and learning . These programs offer U-M faculty, graduate students, and postdocs opportunities to gain new perspectives on teaching at Michigan, share ideas across disciplines, and improve their teaching skills. This semester, we're offering a wide range of sessions including:

- Multi-part series for faculty including a faculty learning community about blended course design , supporting instructors who wish to integrate online learning activities with traditional face-to-face instruction, and a community of practice for instructors using gameful learning practices who wish to connect with colleagues from multiple units who are including gameful elements in their teaching.
- Multiple workshops for GSIs and faculty on inclusive teaching topics , including workshops focused on maximizing accessibility, responding to microaggressions, and teaching for retention in STEM fields.
- Engineering focused workshops sponsored by CRLT in Engineering covering topics from motivating students to incorporating active learning techniques.
- Sessions on core teaching skills, such as writing and grading exams and teaching with technology .
Full details about these programs--and many more--can be found on our Upcoming Events list .
Many of these seminars help GSIs fulfill a requirement for the U-M Graduate Teacher Certificate or the GTC+Digital Media , programs developed by CRLT, Rackham, and the Institute for the Humanities to help U-M graduate students structure and document their professional development as college-level instructors. Over 500 of these certificates have been awarded to date. Participants report that the programs have helped them become more confident teachers and prepared them well for a competitive academic job search.
