External Colleges. Universities, and Organizations Served for 2010-2011

Because of CRLT’s national reputation, representatives of many other institutions contact CRLT for advice and consultation. In 2007-2008, CRLT provided 3,276 services to external clients who represent 129 colleges and universities, 18 associations, foundations, and other organizations in the United States and abroad (see below). CRLT staff provided information on topics such as how to evaluate teaching center activities, how to work with faculty at a research university, how to embed multicultural teaching and learning into the work of a teaching center, and how to design an online course. Additionally, 1,871 individuals from outside U-M attended performances of the CRLT Theatre Program.

The following chart lists the institutions and organizations that received services from CRLT. An asterisk (*) indicates that individuals from that institution or organization visited CRLT in Ann Arbor.

Founded in 1962, the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT) at the University of Michigan was the first teaching center in the country. CRLT partners with U-M faculty, graduate students, and administrators to promote a university culture that values and rewards teaching, respects and supports individual differences among learners, and encourages the creation of learning environments in which diverse students can learn and excel.
