Enriching Scholarship: Five Ways to Effectively Incorporate Video into Teaching, and One Bad Way

This session is sponsored by Faculty Exploratory, University Library at the Enriching Scholarship conference. Participation in this session fulfills one workshop requirement for the Rackham-CRLT Graduate Teacher Certificate.

Session Description: There are a multitude of possibilities for bringing video into today's classroom to support student learning, but how can it best be done in a way that encourages learning and involvement? In this session we will take a look at some interesting examples of how UM faculty are incorporating video and other time-based media into their teaching plans. We will explore three aspects of classroom use: making video available to students 24/7; effective use of video for classroom and student presentations; and ways to support students with creating video based assignments.
