ELI / CRLT Winter Term and August Courses

ELI 994 is a Winter Term or three-week August course for graduate students whose undergraduate education was not English-medium and who have been nominated for Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) appointments in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts (LS&A). The course is offered jointly by the English Language Institute and the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT). As students examine contexts of undergraduate education at the University of Michigan and effective classroom language in these contexts, they practice reflective teaching with language and teaching feedback from peers, undergraduates and instructors.

For information on CRLT involvement in the courses for prospective GSIs, contact Mary Wright (mcwright@umich.edu).
