TTI Proposal Form in MS Word Format

Recent Teaching With Technology Institute Award recipients

INTRODUCTION

The Teaching with Technology Institute helps faculty integrate instructional technology into their teaching, increase their technology skills and comfort, and explore the effective use of technology in support of learning. The Institute provides individual consultations on pedagogy and technology, sustained one-on-one support for faculty grantees during course planning and while the course is being taught, and hands-on technological training. Awards of $2500, to be used at the discretion of recipients, are available. The TTI is a collaborative initiative sponsored by CRLT, the Library, and schools and colleges from across campus. It is administered through CRLT.

PROGRAM PARTICIPATION

The TTI program requires

  • three morning meetings for all grantees in April/May 2012:
    • April 30
    • May 1
    • May 18
  • a meeting for all grantees in the 2012-13 academic year;
  • a "final reunion" meeting for all grantees in May 2013;
  • individualized consultations with TTI staff;
  • a written report or web links with a summary overview, to be submitted within three months following the completion of the project. TTI consultants are available to assist you in documenting your project's implementation and learning outcomes. See report guidelines (PDF).

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open, on the Ann Arbor campus of the University, to members of the following groups: all tenured and tenure-track faculty, clinical instructional faculty, and lecturers who have continuing appointments and course development responsibilities (i.e., an assignment from the dean, chair, or designee to develop a new course or significantly revise an existing course). Faculty with various technology skill levels and experience with instructional technology – from novice to expert – are invited to apply.

To ensure that a variety of applicants have the opportunity to implement innovative teaching and learning activities, recipients of TTI grants during an academic calendar year (Sept-August) will not be eligible to receive funding for an TTI grant during the next academic calendar year, but are welcome to apply again in the following year.
