The Teaching with Technology Institute helps faculty explore how technology can transform knowledge, examine effective uses of technology in teaching, and further develop their technological skills for a specific course or courses.  This year’s Institute emphasizes: sustained one-on-one support for faculty grantees, during course planning and when the course is being taught; individual consultations on pedagogy and technology; hands-on technological training; and application of technology (rather than development of new tools).

Awards of $2,500 are available.

The program includes

The following are examples of past TTI projects.  The examples are meant to be illustrative, not exhaustive.

For more examples, follow this link to CRLT’s TTI Grant Projects Webpage: www.crlt.umich.edu/inst/TTIProjects2007.html

Eligibility

The competition is open, on the Ann Arbor campus of the University, to members of the following groups: all tenured and tenure-track faculty; clinical instructional faculty; and Lecturers who have continuing appointments and course development responsibilities (i.e., an assignment from the dean, chair, or designee to develop a new course or significantly revise an existing course). Faculty with various technological skill levels and experience with instructional technology - from novice to expert - are invited to apply.

This intensive program best serves faculty who are clear about their project goals and are flexible in considering a variety of technology options.
