GSI Teacher Training Program for Winter 2008

Training for new Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs) is by invitation only from your department. If you have accepted a new GSI appointment for Winter 2008 you are REQUIRED to attend the all-day Teacher Training Program that is scheduled on Saturday, January 5, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Bldg. In addition to the training program on January 5th, all new GSIs are REQUIRED to attend one of the Advanced Practice Teaching sessions with an active learning emphasis that are offered on the following days in the Chrysler Center:

September 17, 2008 2:45p.m. - 5:15 p.m. 5:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

September 18 , 2008 2:45p.m. - 5:15 p.m. 5:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

This orientation is mandatory for all new GSIs in the College of Engineering. If you are unable to attend, you must contact Colleen Root, (ckroot@engin.umich.edu) Executive Secretary to the Associate Dean for Graduate Education. You are advised that the Associate Dean for Graduate Education, Dr. Stella Pang, is the only person authorized to approve the alternate plan.
